| Comments: Snapdragon - Antirrhinum majus varieties come in many colors and various heights. These cool season spiky show offs are always popular with children of all ages. The wonderful scent they have pulls you to the garden. Pinch off the old seed heads so you get more flowering. Plant in well drained beds enriched with organic matter (compost, leaf mold, cow manure, peat) to promote vigorous growth. Snapdragons need a sunny location to bloom. Rotate containers of showy cool season annuals with warm season annuals into an empty pot-in-pot pocket in a mixed container planted with more durable tropical plants. You can also do the pot-in-pot technique in ground beds especially where tree roots make digging a problem. Check out our blog for posts about this idea. Keyword pot-in-pot. |
